News from the Delegate – August 17, 2025

Greetings everyone!
Preliminary information indicates that our recent International Convention, hosted in Vancouver, BC, in July was a great success! With more than 34,000 registrants, the event was both spiritually uplifting and financially sound. Carolyn W., Secretary of A.A.W.S., has reported that the budgeted break-even point was 31,000 registrations, and current figures indicate that actual expenses versus costs are coming in on a favorable note. Final results will be printed in the 75th. General Service Conference final report which is expected to come out in late September. Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the report when you attend the Area 14 Assembly in October.

In other news, many of you expressed excitement during my Post-Conference report backs about the Grapevine Greeting Cards. I’m happy to share that these cards are now available for purchase directly from the Grapevine. They make wonderful gifts for sponsors, sponsees, or anyone you’d like to reach out to with an encouraging message.

Finally, I invite you to join me for our Post-Conference Wrap-Up Session on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. During this one-hour session, I will briefly review the 75th General Service Conference Advisory Actions and welcome your candid conversation, questions, and input.

Details and Zoom information for this session can be found on the flyer posted under the Activities of Area 14 section of our website: aanorthflorida.org.

I look forward to seeing you there! As always thank you for the wonderful opportunity you have afforded me as your Delegate. The Delegate’s service is a year-round deal. My hope is that if you have a matter or concern you would like to express about Alcoholics Anonymous you would feel free to reach out to me at any time.

And don’t forget – if you have a Proposed Agenda Item you hope to submit for 2026; this needs to arrive at the General Service Office no later than September 30, 2025. I know of a couple which have been submitted by members of our Area and will be tracking these throughout the PAI process. If you need more information or the Proposed Agenda Item form please contact me at delegate@aanorthflorida.org or by phone at 352-428-2188.

Yours service,
